He is believed by S.E. Wegner to be the progenitor of many Landis families in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.
"He may have been the father of Mennonite Jacob Landis who was living at Steinsfurt in 1717 as well as Mennonite Rudolp h Landis of Schatthausen, Germany, Mennonite Hans Landis of Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Mennonite Henrich Landis o f Heppenheim, Germany who named a son Rudolph. Jacob, Hans and Henrich each had a son named Jacob who were neighbors l iving on the border of Salford and Franconia Townships in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in the 1740s."
